Aorere College: 2026 Start of Year Update 

Kia Ora e te Whānau! 
We hope you have had a safe and restful summer. Here is everything you need to know for the start of Term 1 next week. 

URGENT: ENROLMENTS If your child is not yet enrolled, you must complete the process online with the required documentation on our Enrolments page.
Please Note: We are not accepting Out-of-Zone enrolments. Unenrolled students cannot start on Tuesday, the 27th. Processing takes ~1 week. 

KEY DATES: FIRST WEEK
Tuesday, 27th January
YEAR 9: Pōwhiri & Induction.
Time: 9:00 am Start (Whānau welcome).
Assemble: 8:45 am at Selfs Road Gate.
Following the pōwhiri, students will complete induction with their kāinga class. 

YEARS 10–13: Induction & Course Confirmation.
Time: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Yr 10: Go to Charles Herbert Gym, then go with Kaiako Kāinga to Kāinga classes.
Yr 11: Go to Colin Pascoe Gym, then go with Kaiako Kāinga to Kāinga classes.
Yr 12 & 13: Go directly to Kāinga classes. 

Wednesday, 28th January
ALL YEARS: School starts at 9:00 am. Students attend timetabled classes. 

2026 BELL TIMES
Mon, Tue, Thu: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Wed, Fri: 9:00 am – 2:10 pm 

GATE POLICY Gates close at 9:00 am sharp every day for security. Late students must line up to be admitted. If there is a genuine reason for lateness, please provide your child with a note to show at the gate.
